Read In January

January is always a fairly slow month, pay day seems like a lifetime away and in Glasgow it snowed for near enough half the month – also I was sick for the whole month so not the best time. But every cloud has a sliver lining an all that! With my spending most of the month in bed sick, I got to reading a lot more. I’ve actually now read more books in the last month than I did the whole of 2017… Two books that I read were ones that had been started in 2017, and four others had been read front to back this month. I am a book reading machine and I’m loving that I’m back reading again.

Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Perfume

The first time I saw Scandal by Jean Paul Gaultier I instantly fell for it, I didn’t even need to smell it – the bottle was just that pretty! Luckily it also smells divine – but I actually only first smelled it in the Airport coming home from Amsterdam. David’s parents once again surprised me with a rather expensive fragrance as a present – for my birthday they got me Valentino Donna which has fast become one of my most reached for scents.  Jean Paul Gaultier do unfortunately test on animals – but most fragrance brands seem to these days – I’m going to try get myself a cruelty free perfume soon, but in the mean time I’ll use up the ones I’ve been given as gifts.  The bottle is really pretty, the liquid inside it is a rose-y pink shade. The…

I stopped drinking milk and have dramatically reduced the amount of dairy I eat in the past few months due to looking into the dairy industry more – lets just say that although I bloody love cheese, for me personally I think it is a much more cruel and vile industry than the meat industry. More on that later if you want, but for now this post is mostly aimed at the beauty industry. Its 2018, yet companies still decide that cheap animal torture, sorry testing is an ok way to practice business. Whilst there are those massive brands that claim to not test on animals whilst still selling in China (cough*M.A.C*cough)…

Huda Beauty | Liquid Matte Minis The Red Edition

Christmas of 2016 seems like aeons ago but also like it was just the other week, but anyway, I got the Huda Beauty Red Edition of the Liquid Matte Minis for my Christmas last year. I’ve played around with them a fair bit and more recently started to use them again, so what better time than now to finally get around to reviewing them?   The Liquid Matte Minis come in different shade groups, I’ve got the Red Set, and all have four mini liquid lipsticks in the sets, they’ll cost you £33 per set, and I’m trying to figure out if I think thats good value or not. I think it is, but only cause these liquid lipsticks are so pigmented that you only really need to lip the wand in once to get a really good application of colour. So…
